Institute for Community Inclusion



The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) is a joint program of the University of Massachusetts Boston and the Children’s Hospital Boston, with over 150 staff. Founded in the 1960s, ICI now operates over 45 projects addressing a wide range of health, education, and employment issues in the lives of individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions. ICI has partnered extensively with community based minority organizations (CBMO), receiving Federal funding to help CBMOs apply for grants to deliver services to individuals with disabilities. The ICI operates several national and regional centers and is also a University Center on Excellence in Disability (UCED).
