Domestic Workers Unite in a Bad Economy

There is a movement afoot to organize domestic workers and improve their working conditions even as many face unemployment because of the weak economy. San Francisco domestic workers who make up part of a collective called La Colectiva, part of La Raza Centro Legal, have started a local media campaign, with billboards and signs, to promote “the dignified work of domestic workers".
La Colectiva's social media campaign was created by a partnership between La Raza Centro Legal, Underground Advertising and the Labor and Occupational Health Program of UC Berkeley as a project of New Routes to Community Health.
