Latina Teens at High Risk for Suicide

One in seven Latina teens attempts suicide, according to the CDC. Mother-daughter conflict drives many Latinas to the brink, psychologist Luis Zayas, a psychologist at Washington University, says. He describes a typical at-risk Latina as 14 or 15, daughter of immigrants, in a low-income family. His conclusions were, in part, based on a study of 200 girls in New York City.
