In June, 2009 Prometheus Radio project engineers joined local community volunteers to build a new production studio for Sagal Radio to better serve the East African refugee community of Atlanta, GA. The studio on the campus of Emory University will be used to train media volunteers, pre-record programs, conduct interviews and be a community resource.

Sagal Radio broadcasts on WATB 1420 AM in five languages:

  • Somali (Saturday 1-3pm, Sunday 8-10pm),
  • Amharic (Saturday 5-6pm),
  • Afaan Oromo (Saturday 6-7pm),
  • Swahili (Saturday 8-9pm) and
  • English (Saturday 7-8pm).

Programs also stream on www.sagalradio.org

Sagal Radio is one of three partners in the New Routes to Community Health project, HEARMe "Health Education via Airwaves for Refugees". They work with Emory University and WRFG Radio to improve the lives of East African refugees in the Atlanta, Georgia.
