Somalis Deal with the Reality & Stigma of Mental Illness

In an effort to break the stigma [of mental illness] in the Somali community, several community organizations got together last fall to produce a video called Egal Shidad (in Somali with English subtitles). The video uses storytelling, accounts of traditional ceremonies, guidance from an Imam, and insights from mental health professionals to discuss the issue.
