How Immigrants are Portrayed in Mainstream Media

In sharp contrast to the misrepresentations of immigrants as social pariahs or downtrodden victims; the War on Immigrants Report this month battles back against this framing by mainstream corporate media. As a rash of policing shows such as "Manhunters" on A&E, "Homeland Security" on ABC and "Smile…You're Under Arrest" on the Fox Reality Channel, target immigrants, we will discuss how grassroots media organizing is challenging these virulent anti-immigrant messages and creating media that tells our stories with our words and vision.
