Salud Radionovela - Los Caminos de la Vida (English)
This radionovela tells the story of Carmen and Pancho, who moved to Chicago from a small town in Mexico wishing to live a better life. But the truth is that both of their lives are hard. They miss their families, deal with constant discrimination, and what is worst for Carmen is that Pancho has become abusive. It is also the story of two other immigrants: Sol and Alejandro, both of whom are also trying to make sence of their lives, as they navigate through their dreams and expectations about life in the United States. Written by Cassandra Garcia, Quiltiliano Rios, & Judith Landeros.
Salud: Healing Through the Arts is grounded in the idea that art can foster meaningful dialog and cultivate strong connections among diverse groups of individuals. The project builds young community leaders by offering a space for personal expression while encouraging exploration of the connection between immigration and health issues. Through the performing arts, Salud improves immigrant health in the Mexican-American community and fosters better communication between immigrants and receiving community groups.
